UDUPI, Jul 03: This is the right time to discuss on yakshagana said Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr D Veerendhra Heggade. He was presiding over the valedictory function of silver jubilee celebrations of Yakshagana Kalaranga, here on Sunday.

Shree Vishveshwara Thirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt blessed the gatherin on the occasion and said Kalaranga is doing a goodwork by felicitating yakshagana artists.

Speaking on the occasion president of Folk and Yakshagana Academy Kalegowda Nagawar releasing the book containing information on the yakshagana artists who were felicitated on the occasion said yakshagana has educated many people in the coastal belt.

In his address U R Sabhapathi, Udupi MLA said a memorandum has been submitted to the Government to provide a plot for constructing a building for 'Yakshagana Kalaranga'. Computer will be donated to the institution by August 15 to collect all the information pertaining to yakshagana.

Dr M Prabhakar Joshi, Perampalli Shridhar Hande, Handadi Subramanya Bhat, K Vishvajna Shetty and S V Bhat were felicitated by Pejawar Seer on the occasion.
