Dr. V. Raghavan

Dr. V. Raghavan was a world famous Indologist and for long the Head of the Department of Sanskrit in the Madras University. He wrote this article in 1934 and it was published in the ‘Triveni’ English periodical of Madras (Vol. VII, No.2). It was one of the first writings on Yakshagana and hence it is of great historical importance. It is unfortunate that the author is no longer with us. We are grateful to the late Dr. Raghavan for having permitted us to reproduce this article.
